Howdy!

We have been so busy lately with the COPPERPONY !
It will be 54 days today since we started
really working with the bridling.
We have only missed a few days going out to the stable.
We are also working with fly spray and worming.
Poor baby, he's being so abused!
Things are going good!!!
Our friend Doc is still by our side daily helping!
THANK YOU!
I haven't had much time to post.
I have been getting a few more hours at work
during this summer and don't get home
until 10:30 PM.
I have been trying to get more rest,
instead of staying up so late.
I feel like I have been going non-stop, feeling a bit run down.
Our first priority is Dusty and keeping
him on this schedule.
I've been given some awards, and have been a
bad blogger friend for not acknowledging them
I want to thank all of you who have awarded me these.
They are greatly appreciated, and I love all of you.
I have lots of things to post about.
I promise I will in the next week or two.
Just need to get back on track.
I have been reading all of your posts
Haven't left to many comments, but I am thinking about all of
you my friends!!!

If it's as hot where you are as it is here, the smallest effort sucks the life force right out of you. I commend you for sticking to your schedule. My horses have gotten fed, sprayed and groomed, but that's all the energy I can muster. I picked hooves this weekend and thought I'd faint!

I totally understand, I have been getting real busy too, I always feel so bad for not responding to my bloggy friends for a while! So don't worry about me! Blogging comes after all the "real life" stuff =)

Boy do I understand what busy is.

About the fly spray. Last night I desensitized a mare to spray. She was amish trained. Real dead broke but terrified of the hissing of a spray bottle or aerosol can. She wasn't fond of hoses either. We got her used to hoses. Yesterday I went out to spray Indigo, she heard the bottle hiss and took off and she was 15 feet away! I said that had to stop because if a little kid was handling her, and shes a BIG mare (draft cross), someone would get hurt. I got a bottle of water and haltered her. I sprayed everywhere BUT her. I had her lead in my left hand and the bottle in my right. She spun circles around me for about a minute, decided it wasn't all that scary and stood still. I stopped, praised, patted, gave a cookie. I sprayed again, that time she didn't care so I started to spray in her direction but NOT on her. She started to run around again but stood after about 5 circles around me. Stop spraying, pat, treat, rinse, repeat. Basically in a whole of 5 minutes I could spray her all over with the water. She was a little wet but it was a nice day. No more skeeerry sprayers.

I know the busy feeling! Even though I am not working, I have been so busy! Who wants to be inside when the weather is so nice? Wait til winter, than all we will be doing is blogging.

Sometimes you just have to set your priorities and stick with them. I think a lot of people are putting their outdoor time first. Glad to hear you are getting to spend lots of time with your horse.

Yes, it is a crazy busy time of year. June was pretty chaotic for me, but it seems to be settling down a bit. Amazing that you have been able to work with the Copperpony all those days in a row!! Sounds like it is paying off. Hope you can have some down time and get some rest -- I know I plan to do that for myself this evening!!

Good for you keeping up with Dusty's schedule and training. He looks confidant and happy in that photo. It's great to see a recent photo of all three of you, too.

Take as much time as you need. We'll all be around when you come back. :)
