Be Still My Heart

They charm you with their subtle "style,"

they walk tall across the dusty road, they ride beautiful horses.

They chase, they hunt, they are greedy or they are givers.

They have high self esteem or they are wicked creatures.

They are rough, they are tough, they are ready and they

will kill swiftly if they have to.

They played wild west outlaws, notorious gunfighters,

town marshals, bounty hunters or old west farmers.

Western movie actors carried a heroic attitude.

I love them all!!!
Good or bad!

Ahaha! Once Cowboy H was hauling horses and stopped at a gas station to fuel up, when some directors for a western movie asked him and his buddies if they wanted to be extras in the movie. The directors said Cowboy H and crew looked more like cowboys than the guys they had hired! Ha! That's right, only the real thing will do for me!

My mother raised me right - watching all these good westerns instead of weirdo cartoons! But good horsemen were far and few between in most of those shows and movies - I'd much rather watch Clinton Anderson, a cowboy who can actually handle a horse!

John Wayne The Cowboys best movie ever made.

John Wayne, Gary Cooper : the best movie cowboys. But do you know that probably the best "horseman" in the movies was Roy Rogers. Surprised? How many movie cowboys worked with an actual stallion, doing stunts and tricks? Roy and the ponies he used as "Trigger" worked together for hours on end with trainers to get the movie shots.

John Wayne was my favorite. I grew up watching those with my Dad. He was such a fan, and then he actually got to see him one time in the San Juan Islands when he was up there on his boat. Watched a goofy lady walk backwards off the dock trying to take pictures of him!! Hee! Hee!

I haven't watched a good cowboy movie in a while! I miss it! Maybe I'll bring Lonesome Dove next time I visit and we can watch some of it! :)

My favorite used to be John Wayne until my mom told me she saw a biography done on him and he stated he HATED horses! Don't know if that was true or not but you would never know it by watching his westerns. Clint Eastwood was my favorite....hey but what about the ugly? My brothers used to go through the house whistling that song to the Good, Bad and the Ugly movie! I would hate to mention how many times we watched it!
