In Loving Memory

Yesterday I was wanting to make Cowboy a pie. I learned from the best of the best! My Beloved Grandmother, "BUBA." Now she knew how to make pies!!! I used to make pretty good pies myself, but I don't bake much anymore. Her pie crust was her trade mark. She was always the one who was asked to bring a pie. I was feeling a little sentimental without knowing why, while I was busy mixing all the ingredients. I decided on a coconut creme. I made a graham cracker crust from scratch. The second layer was chocolate and whip cream. Then the vanilla pudding topped with more whip cream and toasted coconut.

It was yummy!!!

Today is the 2ND anniversary of my "Buba's" passing. I knew it was coming up, but life has been so hectic, I didn't take time to stop and remember. But she reminded me!!! I believe she was with me yesterday, helping me make that pie!

I bought a dozen PINK ROSES today in her memory. I gave Cowgirls Grace four, My Mother 4, and I kept 4. We all have one for you Desert Rose since you aren't here. The two dried roses are from her service.

I love you "Buba," and you will be in my "HEART FOREVER"

Antique Rocking Horses

Meet MAX! Resident cat living in an antique shop.
He loves following you around. He is a sweetie!

Cowgirls Grace, Sares, and I went browsing Antique and 2ND hand shops yesterday. We had a lot of fun looking for treasures. This is an outside sitting area at one of my favorites. I also get my hair done here. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE crystal chandeliers. They hang all over inside of this shop. It is very shabby chic.

This is another sitting area of the same shop

This is TOMMY! He lives in another shop. Isn't he cute!

I wasn't looking for a rocking horse, but they were everywhere we went. Does this mean something?! Is someone keeping a secret from me? Is there a grandchild in my future?!

I think this is my favorite one.

Pony Girl and Paint Girl had one very similar to this rocking horse when they were little. They spent hours playing on it. I wish we still had it.

Isn't this cute!

This looks very old. I wish I knew the history of these. Did they belong to little boys or girls? How many children spent many hours rocking, rocking, rocking! How many owners have they had? Maybe some are handmade. One thing for sure, little ones always love to rock!!!

Hugs to My Friends

A goodbye gift from my girl-friends!
Last August I made a job change that I was not READY for. I worked for a family owned business that has been in existence for 104 years! Now that is a milestone! I loved this job and my co-workers. They are my friends.
Cowboy and I have had some major life changes these last few years and had sold our home at the beach and were renting for a few months.
Since we didn't have any ties there anymore, it was just not the same. We loved the beach and had hoped to retire there. But your hopes and dreams can change in the blink of an eye...
We decided to move back to our hometown. We moved away 38 years ago and have always been within a few hours away. My parents & sister live here. Pony Girl and Paint Girl are a couple hours away, and another sister is close by.
We ended up buying a small home in a park. I call it my "Casita!" Moving here made my commute to work an hour and 10 minutes one way. It made for really long days. Winter was coming and I was really dreading making this drive. Something was telling me I needed to get off the road. I believed I needed to listen to my intuition. I had put in an application at a major business a couple months prior, and received a call to come in and interview. I got the job on the spot. Some people would call it luck, I believe things happen for a reason, and I was suppose to get this job, because I was not supposed to be doing that drive.
It was so hard for me to go to work the next day, and tell my boss and friends that I was leaving. I have left jobs in the past, and was ready for a change and new challenge. But I did not want to leave. I cried to and from work all week. It was hard to think I would not be seeing them everyday. We have kept in touch, and I believe they will be my forever friends!

They gave me a wonderful farewell! They truly made me feel loved. I miss them terribly!
I love you Lulu Bug, Christi, Kathleen, Carolyn, Barbara, Gary, Pete, Jeff, Brian, and Adam!!

You all have touched my heart in someway and I will never forget you...

Lily Bug

Lily's Story

Cowboy and I have always had cats in our 38 years of marriage. We always will. Lily came into our life 5 years ago. We had a weekend place at the beach. For about a year this white cat hung around our lot when we were there. One day I was talking to the neighbor, and asked where the cat lived. She told me that the lady we bought the house from left two cats behind and she was one. Of course that upset me. How could someone just walk away and leave them . Pony Girl was down for the weekend and spent time outside with the little, scrawny cat, trying to befriend her and get her to eat. We only had dog food until we went to the store, but she was so starved she gobbled it down. She was pretty friendly and craved the attention she was getting. So Cowboy and I left food out for her during the week. But the raccoons were getting it, and we were worried she would get hurt. So I said,"can't we just get a litter box and leave her inside?" Being the nice guy he is, he agreed. When we came back, she had been the perfect little house guest! Well, you can pretty much guess the end of the story. We took her to the vet to get her checked out. He estimated her age to be 5 or 6. So that makes her about 10 now. It saddens me to think that someone would just think her life was not important enough to find another home for her and leave her behind. This is the sweetest little girl and all she wants is to be with her person. She sleeps with me every night. She has a routine when she comes to bed. She has to sleep on the outside edge, wants to be under the covers, and curled in my arms. She will stay in bed with me all day if I am sick. Will not get up until I do. She loves me unconditionally. Once again I believe things happen for a reason. I can not imagine Lily Bug not being in our life. She truly is a gift from above. On one of our weekend outings at our favorite 2nd hand store, Pony Girl was beside herself with glee because she had found a treasure for me!!! She could hardly keep her secret!!! When I finally received her gift, it was the picture below of our "LILY," on a decoupage board. Now what are the odds of finding this?

We Love you Lily!!!
