Peek A Boo Tuesday

Welcome to Peek A Boo Tuesday
Hosted by
"A Cowgirl's Grace"
You all know that the thing I LOVE to do the most
is spend time with my copper pony.
He is my PASSION. I would move to the barn and
share his stall if I could!!!
Before Dusty came into my life I had another passion.
Enter my door and see my past addiction!
BEACHCOMBING!!!
Yes, I was a beachcombing addict.
Sunset at the beach where we lived .
I would spend hours, and hours and HOURS looking for treasures.
Rosie was my constant beach companion.
In fact, Cowboy was addicted too, and all of our friends.
Cowgirls Grace and I would pack a lunch and
spend 4 to 5 hours out there.
Sometimes we would spot the same agate shining
down the beach and run for it!!!
WE would race to see who would get out there first in the morning.
We would have to brag about our finds for the day.
Who had the biggest!
Who had the prettiest!
How many!
Sometimes you would come upon treasures like these
and be in heaven.
Other times you would see them poking out of the sand and
you would have to dig them up.
I have not been beachcombing for 2 years.
I have been thinking about it a lot lately.
It is best to go out right after it has been really stormy.

Love seeing the wildlife.
Seagulls, blue heron, seals

Agates and petrified wood
bright sunlight usually helps by reflecting glint or gleams

buoys

sea glass~prized gems
smooth, frosty, opaque
tossed, weathered
smashed many, many times into the ocean floor
polished by waves and sand
glass floats

I can feel the excitement just looking at this!
digging to see what I can find
I never could get enough!
I would tell myself just one more when I found something.
One more would always be five, or ten or twenty more!
I could not stop!
I was ADDICTED!
I have had my treasures packed away.
I think it is time to bring them out to show you soon!

Ooooh! So pretty! I love sea glass. I've not been to the ocean for over 5 years now. I miss it sometimes. I have a large collection of shells that my grandparents and I collected on walks along the beaches of California. They are gone now, so the shells are very dear to me.

I miss the beach too!! Maybe this spring we can take a trip for a night, wouldn't that be fun? You and auntie were funny w/your beach combing competitiveness, hee hee! You even got me into it, and I have many treasures still, filling old silver bowls and such!!
Maybe you can combine Dusty and the beach and go on a beach ride with him sometime!

We live so far inland....that the last time I saw the beach was last year in Key West when my brother got married. I'm due for a visit. Beautiful finds you have there....I never knew you could find things like that! Thanks for sharing them. I would definitely do what PG said and ride Dusty on the beach!

Oh, you just stirred up so many memories! I grew up at the beach, my dad's family has a house a 1/2 block up from the sand, and I used to spend so much time there as a kid and high schooler! We would collect all kinds of goodies too, from sea glass to shells and rocks. Once, I took Cowboy H to the beach and they had an influx of sand dollars. We gathered nearly 100 of them! Thanks for sharing these great memories.

Beautiful finds...I've looked on the beach before but just shortly...but never seemed to find anything that isn't so tumbled that it was broken to bits. I guess I have to look further??

You remind me of my family and I when we go to rummage sales here. we cannot wait for our carto stop before we jump out. And then we one of us spies something special we run and hang on to each other..laughing all the way. We have found such neat treasures also.

I relish the search and the reward is in what you find!

You certainly have some great pics of beach treasures. Can totally hear how fond you are of beach combing and how much you miss it. If you ever make it out to South Bay, California I'd be happy to be your personal guide for an excellent sea glass expedition. Til then..Fair Winds and Calm Seas, Deborah Leon www.mermaidspurseseaglass.com
