Talented Pony Cousins

This is where it all started.
This is my Grandma Sena.
She was my Dad's mother. She passed away 38 yrs ago.
Grandma had 12 children and was a hard worker.
I never met my Grandpa Grant. He died before I was born.
I remember loving grandma so much as a little girl.
Our family just celebrated our 25Th year of reunions
the same weekend every August.

We have lots of wonderful memories.

One of the highlights every year is the famous talent show!!!

The family lines up in anticipation of the many talented entries!

As you know, the Pony Cousins like to have a good time
This is the Divine Miss C
She is the star of the show
she leads, we follow!!!

This is my Aunt Jean. She is the mother of the Divine Miss C.
Aunt Jean always has her trade mark red shoes on.

She has done some really hilarious skits over the years!!!

famous "elder" Pony Cousins ready to perform

92' Doing our routine to the "Shangri La's" Leader of the Pack

93' "Loretta Lynn"

You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man

Now the Pony Cousins have persuaded many of
our boy cousins to perform with us!!!

That is "Jim Dandy" in the chair

"Jim" is in the dress!

93' Pony Cousin's rowdy weekend

We went to a live show and got our idea for the
next years show!

94' "Glen Campbell" Rhinestone Cowboy

Now this probably has been the funniest thing

we have ever done! We always put the Divine Miss C

up front and we mimic her.

Now what the Uncles and Aunts did not know

was that we had cut the cheeks out of our jeans,

and we were bare bottomed!

So when we started going in a circle,

they saw our fannies, and went HYSTERICAL!!!

"Rhinestone Cowgirls"

"Neil Sedaka" Calender Girls
January...you start the year off fine
February...you're my little valentine
March...I'm gonna march you down the isle
April...You're the Easter Bunny when you smile

YEAH, YEAH, my hearts in a whirl
I love, I love, I love my little calender girl
Everyday, everyday, of the year.

May...maybe if I ask your Dad and Mom
June...they'll let me take you to the junior prom
July...like a firecracker in all aglow
August...when you're on the beach, you steal the show

YEAH, YEAH, my hearts in a whirl
I love, I love, I love my little calender girl
Everyday, everyday, of the year!

September...light the candles at your sweet sixteen
October...Romeo and Juliet on Halloween
November...I'll give thanks that you belong to me
December...You're the present 'neath my Christmas tree.

YEAH, YEAH, my hearts in a whirl
I love, I love, I love my little calender girl...

THANK YOU Cuz 'Jim for being our Neil Sedaka!!!

" The Supremes"

Somehow we always manage to pull if off!
We only get to practice about an hour before show time.
It always helps to have a little

"cowgirl courage"
to settle the nerves before the curtain goes up!

We have taken movies through out the years.
They are a blast to watch.

What memories!!!
I am really missing my Pony Cousins,
Time for another rowdy weekend!

I love you "PONY COUSINS!!!

Crazy moments for sure! I saw myself in one of those pictures! I look so young! Wait, I am young! It is always so much fun to come up with new skits and put them together for everyone. They just love it and never know what will happen from year to year!

I so envy the closeness of your family. Mine just is not that way, never has been, and likely won't ever be.

I think that, what is funny is that 50 relatives eagerly set up their folding chairs in rows and wait impatiently for the talent show to begin... and, every year we show them that you dont have to have talent to be entertaining. And isnt our Aunt Jean just one in a million?! What a hoot!

What a hoot! Do you have to be part of the family to come? I'm thinking of showing this to my sisters and seeing if they're game next time the family gathers.
